Positive Reinforcement Training
Positive reinforcement is all about encouraging and rewarding good behaviors! When your dog displays good behavior, like not barking when the mail carrier arrives, reward your pup verbally and/or with a treat. Your dog will learn which behaviors you like—or those that come with praise—and will be encouraged to repeat those behaviors.
How to Use Positive Reinforcement Training
Timing is everything when it comes to positive reinforcement training! As soon as you observe good behavior, give praise or a treat to your dog. Waiting too long may reward your dog for a different behavior, confusing both of you! When using treats as positive reinforcement, choose a high-reward treat only used for training. A special treat for good behaviors will result in the most encouragement for your pup!
I had very little hope this collar would actually work but it does!! You obviously have to do some training with it, it’s not magic. But it works!! They still let off an initial bark when alerted, but then stop. No more excessive barking!
